Xbox One Bundle Comparison

There are now several Xbox One bundles to choose from over the holidays, and this Call of Duty bundle is a good option. But just in case another one will be a better match for you, here is a comparison with holiday price drops:
Xbox One, no Kinect: $349
- Barebones, nothing extra, not a great deal, don't get this one.
Xbox One with Kinect: $449
- Same as above, but includes Kinect. No other bonuses, don't get this bundle.
Xbox One Assassin's Creed Bundle, no Kinect: $349
- This includes both Assassin's Creed black flag (digital version), which is playable immediately after download, and Assassin's Creed Unity, which you can pre-download, but it is not playable until release date, which is still 1-2 weeks away. As you can see, this is the same price as the barebones XBO, but includes 2 free games, making it a pretty sweet deal if you don't care about the Kinect.
Xbox One Assassin's Creed Bundle, with Kinect: $449
- Same as other AC bundle above, but also includes Kinect. It also includes a free Kinect game: Dance Central Spotlight. The Kinect sells separately alone for $149 MSRP, so this is an *extremely* good bundle. The standard MSRP prices would put this value at $399 console + $149 Kinect + $30 AC Black Flag + $60 AC Unity + $20 Dance Central Spotlight = about $650 total. Even if you believe the separate prices are kind of inflated, or they go down further over time, still a great deal.
Xbox One Sunset Overdrive Bundle: $349
- This bundle does not include a Kinect, but includes the new Sunset Overdrive game for the same price as the barebones bundle. But what makes this one stand out is that both the console and controller are white, which is pretty cool. Color preferences are subjective, so you'll need to look at it and decide if this bundle is right for you, or if SO is the type of game you'll like. It is currently the only way to get a white XBO. If you really want the Kinect, you'll have to buy it separately for $149, which makes the deal less awesome. But if you don't care about Kinect and like the look of white, this is a great choice.
Xbox One Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Bundle: $449
- This bundle is priced the same as the normal Kinect bundle, but this one does not actually include the Kinect. Instead, that $100 premium gets you Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (digital version, not physical), a custom Call of Duty themed console and controller design, and a 1TB hard drive. This is the only way to currently get a 1TB hard drive, which to me is the biggest selling point of all. But again, if you want the Kinect, you'll have to buy it separately for $149 which makes it not as great of a deal. But that 1TB is great, and with how large full games are, will quickly become necessary. I'm hoping 1TB becomes a standard hard drive size very soon for this console, but for now, you'll have to get this bundle to get that extra space (or get a separate external drive).
Note: The included game is download only, no physical game disc is included. The game is HUGE so plan on starting it before you go to bed, so it will be done downloading and installed by morning. :)
After the last few system updates, the Xbox One has become an even better gaming/media device that I am still using and enjoying just about every day. So pick the bundle that works best for you and you won't be disappointed!

Great Console - Epic Failure on Day One Release of COD: AW

First let me say that I purchased this console not because I am a huge COD fan. I purchased it because it looks cool and it came with a 1 Terabyte hard drive.
The unit arrived on the date promised at the usual 2:00 PM window that UPS delivers in my area. The item was undamaged. The console comes with everything needed to get it hooked up and running. (Note: This unit does not have a Kinect sensor) It does include a HDMI cable and even batteries for the controller. The controller matches the themed skin on the console itself and looks good sitting next to my Star Wars Edition Xbox 360.
Setup was easy after selecting a language and time zone the unit quickly found my dual band wireless router? After providing the password it immediately downloaded an update and moved on to the Xbox Live login screen. Within a minute it had populated my existing account over from the 360 and I was in business.
Overall the console delivers everything as promised. Games run smoothly and look great although I have not yet seen anything that totally knocks my socks off as far as the graphics go. I imagine as developers move away from dual releases for both the Xbox One and the 360 that we will start to see what this next generation console can actually do. A good example would be if Wargamming.net would release a version of their popular online game World of Tanks for the Xbox One. The look of the console edition for the 360 is not as good as the PC edition. The reason for this is the limitations of the fixed RAM memory of the 360. The Xbox One has more RAM and better graphics processor so it would be able to display more detail than its predecessor.
Now as to the release of COD AW, this was an epic fail, which is why you are seeing such low ratings for this console. This is unfair as the console itself is a nice Xbox One package with a hard drive twice the size of a standard one. My code for COD AW did not work on November 3rd. Not a big deal for me as I stated earlier this was not my primary reason for purchasing this console. Both Microsoft and Sony were having issues with all the people trying to download the game on day one. My code worked the next morning and I now have the game and all the extras sitting firmly on my consoles hard drive.
This is a fine console, and the initial fervor of download madness has passed on the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare title. So if you are a COD fan and are looking for a cool looking console, and Kinect is not your thing, then go ahead and pick one of these up. You should have no problem in downloading the program now that the day one panic is over. I would download it at night as it is a large download, and do not forget to turn off the automatic power down feature, or after one hour of you not moving the joystick the unit will turn off.
Overall I am satisfied with the console and Amazon’s prompt delivery, and their guaranteed lowest pricing. The unit was $50.00 cheaper than when I pre-ordered it. Solid purchase!

Great 1 Tb Package: Go with it over a Kinect One!

So there have been many negative reviews about this package. Here is my story and opinion:
So I have wanted an Xbox One for some time and was waiting for a larger hard drive system to be released at a reasonable price. I personally really did not care about the included Call of Duty game or the console graphics, I purchased the system to play Forza Horizon and the Halo Master Chief Collection. Both have been great games. I must say the console and included wireless controller look pretty cool and do not overly scream Call of Duty. The custom sounds the console makes when ejecting a disk and turning on/off are also not overdone. The graphics are pretty great (not as good as my gaming pc, but good for a console) and great games like Forza, Halo, Gears, etc. can only be played on Xbox.
There have been many complaints about the game downloading. The included game is a downloadable copy and not a physical disk copy. My school has terrible internet speed so at about 7/8 mb/s the 50Gb game took 3 days to download. The download can be paused and successfully install doing so many time. Those who were looking forward to the day one release were likely disappointed by the long download times ad server problems. I agree that a physical copy should be included.
Here are my problems with the Xbox One system in general coming from a 360:
1. You pretty much have to always be connected to the internet. When you first turn on the system it downloads a huge update for the system. When done you realize your 1 Tb system has less than 750 Gb on it. While there are technical reasons why 1 Tb is not actually a 1Tb in free space, the operating system os is still huge. Sloppy programming in my opinion as it is several times larger than windows 7 os. Anyways back to the internet, every time you want to play a game it seems there is up to a 100 mb download required to play. While you can unplug your internet to just play the game, it seems there are a lot of updates; almost constant.
2. Things like achievements, game dvr, etc. need to be connected to the internet to use. While the idea behind this is so that developers can constantly add new achievements or goals, but there are times when you just want to be safe and have the achievement pop up after completing something hard and not wait for your internet to catch up. A lot of cut scenes and extra features in games like Halo: TMCE buffer through a 3rd party app called the Halo Channel and with my internet have terrible quality.
3. You cannot join a party with xbox 360 friends. You can message them, but who does that?
4. You cannot play games from disk, you have to download them to the console's hard drive. With less than 750 Gb or so free to use, a few 50 Gb games like Halo, COD, etc. add up fast. You do the math, you can only have a few games installed at a time. My recommendation if you do not have a strong internet service always buy the physical copy. Downloading a 50 Gb game takes about an hour from the disk compared to the days from the Xbox store.
5. To use your old 360 headset like my expensive turtle beach you need the $30 headset adapter to use with the new console controllers.
6. No backwards compatibility with 360 games, at least not yet.
Overall I really like the console, but wish things like the party system and having to be connected to the web for achievements would be fixed. The COD edition is currently the only 1 Tb system and I highly recommend the space over having a Kinect, which I havent need once yet. Unless you plan to run your cable box through the Xbox One, not really a necessary accessory. Hope my review helps, but again is my opinion only.

Since this review is on the AC bundle, which I actually did purchase, I will specify in a little more detail what it includes. The design you see in the product description picture is a cardboard sleeve over the normal green Xbox One box. Inside that box, is completely identical to the normal Xbox One + Kinect bundle, except for those extra cards with download codes for the two AC games. There are no actual physical games or discs included in the bundle. The console is the standard black with the standard 500GB hard drive. Prepare to spend a few hours waiting for the games to download and install. Xbox Live definitely does not utilize my full 50 megabit connection, it seemed to download at around 10mbps consistently, which meant a long wait to actually play, since these game files are HUGE.
After the last few system updates, the Xbox One has become an even better gaming/media device that I am still using and enjoying just about every day. So pick the bundle that works best for you and you won't be disappointed!

Great upgrade from 360 & Use the included HDMI between the BOXES!

I pulled the trigger on this purchase Friday (11-7-14) for a Saturday delivery. Setup was quick and easy... hardware wise. Looking at all the bundles Amazon was offering I thought this had the best value (Getting 3 games). I may never play the Kinect Dance game that was included but my kids will. That said, its a great system and a great upgrade from 360. (Which we still have on HDMI3)
I have my DirecTV Genie HR44-500 connected to the HDMI pass through. The TV control through the system and Kinect is simply FANTASTIC and really... REALLY fast controlling the Genie. It is faster for me to Say "Xbox watch ESPN" than it is to use the remote. I helped my buddy connect his to a Comcast HD box. The DTV Genie is a drastic difference in performance. I would believe this is due to the fact the Genie is newer and has the new HDMI spec for two-way communication between devices. I think his XB1 was blasting the commands via Kinect IR?
Which reminds me, those connecting your TV/Sat/Cable box to the XB1 I cannot stress how important it is to use the included HDMI cable that comes with the XB1 as the HDMI cable between your console and provider box.
I still have some ongoing issues with XBOX LIVE. Lots of problems today with service availability. Not sure if the limited issues of content purchases of the live service or my account causing the problems.
Upon power up, I was prompted to download the .910 GB update. It took me about 10 minutes to DL (Comcast Blast 100Mb) and it was about 20-25 minutes from first power up /download/install to get to the actual setup for Language/time/account.
Im still playing around with it to get the little intricacies but very please thus far. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, my box was definitely opened. The original seals (Circle stickers) covering the flaps were ripped and new ones applied. I figure Amazon, or the factory perhaps did it to "update" or add the bundle options. The hardware itself was still sealed and in untouched plastic.... it appeared to me to be so anyway... and the game code cards with some other instructions booklets seemed thrown into the top. After all, this AC unity bundle was just a sleeve over the standard green box.
Bottom line, if you are thinking or considering this for your holiday shopping you wont regret it. And as for the Kinect, It totally completes the XB1 experience and works much better than the 360 version.

The bundle is worth it

I have owned the original xbox, xbox 360, and recently added the xbox one to my collection. A little late, but the E3 reveal of the xbox one did leave a bitter taste in my mouth and was on the verge of converting to a PS4 instead. Luckily, the decrease in prices on the xbox one and this amazing bundle (I'm a big fan of the Assassin's Creed series), I guess I couldn't go wrong with it. I have played the first AC all the way up to AC4 on 360/PC so I was very excited for Unity. To my surprise, it came with an extra game called Dance Central Spotlight which was icing on the cake because my entire family got into it as soon as it was set up. The game comes with 10 free songs - to get you started, and then you can purchase more songs to add onto the collection (so building your own library). Before I get on a tangent, I do recommend this bundle because if you were to buy it separately, it would cost much more.

Even though they did have a bad presentation at E3, they did make up with their mistakes by overturning most of the decisions so I do recommend giving the xbox another chance before turning away from it due to how it was presented. - The kinect itself has been a big improvement on the previous generation's.

Let me start by saying that I can't compare the Xbox One to the PS3 or PS4 because I've never owned them, but I can compare it to the Xbox 360.
The biggest flaw with the Xbox One is that you are not allowed to download or install anything to your hard drive other than games. No ripping music, no downloading purchased movies/television shows from either Xbox..
