Ty has been.... FURminated!

Hello fellow Amazonians! Today I am reviewing the FURminator Long Hair deShedding Tool for Large Dogs. First let me say, WOW! Where has this thing been all these years?!
We purchased this tool after recently adopting a Golden Retriever puppy, of all the dogs I have had.... This dog is one of the best at shedding! After hearing all the hype and hoopla (and being sick of fur EVERYWHERE) and even a recommendation from our vet (surprised by that?) I went ahead and purchased it.
Pros:
-Not JUST a brush, the tool thins your dog's fur leaving less to shed on your carpet.
-Easy to use.
-FURejector button proves very helpful with the sheer amount of fur the tool removes.
-Dog didn't seem to mind it.
-EFFECTIVE.
Cons:
-Can not be used as a stand alone grooming tool, best if used in conjunction with an undercoat rake at MINIMUM to remove mats and knots in the fur prior to using this tool.Oster Professional Pet Grooming Undercoat Rake, 18 Teeth Wide, Coarse
Also, for any who may ask about the frequency of use... Some say to use the FURminator once a month, others say every grooming session. The honest answer seems to be; use your discretion. If you can get by using a standard brush and use the FURminator once a month, do so. If shedding is persistent and doesn't get any better after the first use, give it another go. In my experience, shedding has drastically reduced after one 10-15 minute session with the FURminator and an undercoat rake.

We have a St. Bernard who is incredibly furry. The first two times we used the Furminator, an enormous amount of hair came off of her. Now, we're using it about once a week and the hair is minimal (relative to what came off before). We've always brushed her regularly, but have never gotten the success that the Furminator has provided. Considering that our St. is lazy and spends most days sleeping in the living room, we've noticed how much less hair the vacuum is picking up, too. Yes, she still sheds, but our legs are not completely covered with white hair after she leans on us. I would highly recommend this product to other pet owners who battle lots of fur!

We have a new siberian husky and this product was recommended to us by a family member. It is absolutely amazing...saves time cleaning up, very comfortbale for our puppy and you'll be amazed by the results
