5Might be one of the best inexpensive gifts.
By Mark
Might be one of the best inexpensive gifts. Just bought it for my son and I don't even have to worry about him breaking it. :)

Some information:
No CD/DVD drive - even thought the picture shows it. Need to buy the more expensive version http://amzn.to/1tq7RCe
No ethernet port just Wifi 802.11 b/g/n
2x USB ports
Webcam
Card Reader port
Upgradable RAM 1333MHz DDR3L

Pros
- Affordable
- Fast for regular stuff, like browsing the internet and writing up documents.
- Windows 8.1

Cons
- It's a little on the heavier side with 5 lbs.
- and a little bulky

I'd also highly recommend getting one of the Amazon 15" sleeves to protect it from drops and scratches. http://amzn.to/1pg2h9U

4It's affordable!

So far it's done it's job, the only thing holding me back from giving it a 5 star is the clicking noise it makes when you're using the mouse pad. It's a loud noise that can aggravate after a while. The rest of the computer seems to run smoothly. No issues yet. Pleased with the affordable price.

5Great once switched to Windows 7.
By Jason Rood
I bought this for a cheap windows 7 computer. If you want to install windows 7 you must install latest Bios from dells web site. Also for me I had to run the diagnostic to get it to see my external dvd. I plan to buy a 8 gig stick and test that out later this week. To get a quad core with 4 gigs for $250 is hell of a deal. Dell also has all the windows 7 drivers on there web site.

Not big issue but this is a Wifi only laptop but does have hdmi so that makes it little more worth it.

Tested 11/28/2014 8 Gigs stick of F3-1600C9S-8GRSL Works perfect. System is running it right now with no issues.
