Product Description
300Mbps Wireless N Router
The TL-WR841N creates a wireless network with speed of up to 300Mbps and has 4 10/100M ports to support 4 wired devices. With two omni-directional antennas, the router adopts MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) and CCA (Clear Channel Assessment) technologies to deliver optimal wireless performance, transmission rates, stability, and coverage. Hence, the router allows you to simultaneously enjoy multiple bandwidth-consuming applications like streaming HD video, making VoIP calls, sharing large files and playing online games. One Button Security Setup - WPS
The TL-WR841N features Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) which allows you to set up a secure wireless connection without manually inputting the password. In order to use this function, you need to have another device such as a wireless adapter or range extender that also supports WPS. By pressing the WPS buttons on both devices, they can connect to each other.View Larger
IP QoS – Control Your Bandwidth
With Quality of Service (QoS), you can control how much bandwidth is allocated to each user. This ensures optimum utilization of bandwidth by controlling congestion and preventing bandwidth abuse. This way users in a network will receive committed and specific bandwidth, preventing non-critical applications from degrading network performance.Easy To Use
The TL-WR841N comes with a Quick Setup feature in its web management page that leads you through a step-by-step process to set up your router. You don't need to install any software or use a CD to finish the setup. Within minutes, your router will be up and running.Other Features

Time warner was charging us $10 in wifi fees and modem rental fee every month( wifi fee???..they are nuts) they were providing a cable modem with built in wifi but range was so short, i had to invest in couple of repeaters just to get wifi on second level.
I purchased ARRIS / Motorola SB6121 for cable modem, and bought this router for wifi. For the price i was not expecting anything solid but so many positive reviews made me go ahead with this purchase.
I am glad i bought this router as not even without the repeater i have strong signal not only in second floor but also the attic in the third floor gets strong wifi bars.
This is a solid wifi router.

$20 for this wireless router? Its as good as or better than my $150 Cisco/Linksys E4200. Really simple setup. Finally, someone took the big manufacturers to task for being overpriced.

The reviews you are reading are most likely not for the product you are looking at [or maybe they are, see edit2]. At least 3 different products have had their reviews all dumped together here, and there are multiple versions of each of those 3 different products. Each of those products has different chipsets, CPUs, flash chips and RAM, and even between version 8 and version 9 of one the N300 2T2R they used an entirely different brands of CPU, chipset, etc.
Be sure to verify you are reading a review of the EXACT model you are looking at. I just bought a N300 2T2R hoping to upgrade it to dd-wrt, but it is v9 and dd-wrt only supports N300 2T2R (TL-WR841N) v8.
Edit: v9 may be supported now?
When I wrote this review there was no support and no plans to support TL-WR841N v9, and the "reason" was v9 was a "China-only model," which it clearly is not. Since then several commenters have posted that support has been added and it is (partially?) working for them. However, when I go to [...]and a search for TL-WR841N version 9 support doesn't come up. Personally, I returned this unit and bought another, and then turned a EeeBook into a router when I got impatient waiting for it to arrive, so I can't comment from personal experience.
Edit 2:
Amazon may have fixed the issue with the reviews being mixed together, I'm not sure how to confirm this. It can't hurt to double check as you read reviews.
I also wanted to say that the 3 stars was due to the review mix-up and the version/hackability issue of the router I ordered. I have no other complaints, so if you are planning to use this router as-is with stock firmware consider this a 5 star review. RCN gave me one of these when I signed up for service and it's worked great. Rarely it needs rebooting, but that may be the modem's fault.
